The European Migration Network (EMN) is an EU-wide network providing up-to-date, objective, reliable and comparable information on migration and asylum. The EMN is coordinated by the European Commission and has National Contact Points in every EU member state (except Denmark) as well as Norway, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine, Montenegro, Armenia, Serbia and North Macedonia.
In 2003, the IOM Country Office for Austria was nominated by the Austrian Federal Ministry of the Interior as the National Contact Point Austria in the EMN (EMN Austria). Since then, EMN Austria has been responsible for the implementation of EMN activities, in line with the EMN work programme and in cooperation with the Austrian Federal Ministry of the Interior. Over the years, an extensive number of publications has been produced, numerous national and international events have been organized and a wide network of national stakeholders has been established.
