Labour and Human Rights: Supply Chain Laws for Fair Business Practices
07 May 2021 via Cisco Webex Events
Event organized by the Platform against Exploitation and Human Trafficking and SÜDWIND in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration (IOM)
#SymposiumRechteInLieferketten
#SymposiumRightsInSupplyChains
The Corona pandemic has drawn attention to labour exploitation in branches such as agriculture and in-home care. At the same time, it has revealed the powerlessness of many suppliers and their employees when product demand suddenly disappears and purchasing companies fail to pay for ordered goods.
These aspects are part of overall supply chain responsibility, which – under the current economic conditions – should be anchored at the national and supranational levels.
For this reason, Südwind and the Platform against Exploitation and Human Trafficking in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration are hosting an online Symposium on this issue on 7 May 2021.
The final agenda is available here.
