Vienna Conference on Combatting Trafficking in Human Beings
The annual Vienna Conference on Combatting Trafficking in Human Beings will take place on 17 October 2024 at the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna. Under the title “Human trafficking - a private matter?”, this year’s focus will be on the personal component that this crime regularly contains. This is because trafficking in human beings is not just a widespread crime but also a deeply personal attack that profoundly invades the life and dignity of victims. In many cases, a close relationship between the perpetrators and the victims precedes this attack.
In a panel discussion and four thematic workshops with victim protection institutions, intergovernmental institutions, international organizations and NGOs, the thematic focus will be examined in more detail. Together with the victim protection organization MEN VIA, IOM will hold a workshop on “Male vulnerability and exploitation: “Private failure” or social responsibility? (in German; workshop 3).
The conference is a public event and free of charge. Participants are kindly requested to fill in the online registration form available at this link. Participation is possible on site and online. Detailed information on registration and program.
